Echelzannor

Runekeeper

Scholar of the Company

Echelzannor, a Runekeeper from Dale, left his homeland as a youth seeking greater purpose in the Misty Mountains. There, he joined a dwarf caravan bound for Moria. Traveling with them, he immersed himself in dwarven culture, learning the legends of King Durin, the riches of Khazad-dûm, and the tragic fate of Balins expedition. In Moria's 21st Hall, he poured over ancient archives. At the Dolven-view, he befriended the librarian Sót, who showed him an incomplete copy of the ancient tome "Thunder and Flame." Inspired, Echelzannor became a self-taught master of dwarven rune magic, living as a hermit in the Misty Mountains for years. Friendly dwarves provided him with supplies in exchange for his research, which he sent back to Sót. Isolation changed him; rumors spread of a strange hermit who vanished in bursts of flame and lightning when harassed by monsters. While exploring the ruins of Helegrod, he encountered Captain Echelandirs company. Lending his expertise, Echelzannor helped them purge the stronghold and defeat the dragon Thorog. Realizing the mountains had grown too small for him, he joined the company. Today, he mentors a young dwarf named Echelorin, trying to mold him into a traditional warrior, though the youth stubbornly prefers his automatic crossbow. All the while, Echelzannor continues sending research to Sót as payment for all care and friendship he got from dwarves. Old and abit grumpy he is sometimes unpredictable with his abnormal age due to Rune magic. his journey echoing with the crackle of fire and thunder. He likes to go drink in Bree with a company, if trouble starts he quickly resolves it with thunder or two.
